The Goodale Fiscal Record

Ralph Goodale was Canada’s Minister of Finance from 2003-2006. In that time he continued the longest string of balanced federal budgets in Canadian history, an achievement which built upon the work of then-Finance Minister Paul Martin and Prime Minister Jean Chrétien going back to 1993… This period of unprecedented fiscal strength was admired the world-over for resilience, prudence and prosperity.
